Kevään 2015 koulupäivät ja järjestelyt – Spring 2015 school dates and arrangements

Koulupäivät

Suomi-koulu tapaa keväällä 2015 seuraavasti:

• 24/01 molemmat ryhmät tapaavat Johannan luona, klo 14-16. 
• 28/02 molemmat ryhmät tapaavat Riikan luona, klo 14-16. 
• 21/03 molemmat ryhmät tapaavat Mirjamin Sadun luona, klo 14-16.
• 25/04 molemmat ryhmät tapaavat Krissen luona, klo 14-16. 
• 16/05 molemmat ryhmät tapaavat Sadun Mirjamin luona, klo 14-16. 
• 17/06 Koulun kevät kokous Riikan luona (illalla).
• 21/06 Retki Mugdock Country Park, klo 11 alkaen. Koulu varaa grillauskatoksen. Puistossa voimme myös pelata suomalaisia pelejä (pesäpallo, mölkky, jne), ja siellä on paljon lasten ulkoleikkipaikkoja. Leikkipaikat ovat “luonnonmukaisia” eli lapsilla kannattaa olla likaa/mutaa kestävät vaatteet. Perheiltä kerätään pieni retkimaksu, jolla katetaan grillauskatoksen vuokraus, sekä grillihiilet ja muut yhteiset tarvikkeet. Ruoka hoidetaan nyyttäriperiaatteella, eli perheet tuovat grillattavaa ja muuta syötävää itselleen ja mielellään hieman ylimääräistä jaettavaksi. Tarkempia tietoja retkestä julkaistaan myöhemmin.

Opetusryhmät

Opetus jatkuu kahdessa ryhmässä, mutta koulu toivottaa tervetulleeksi kaksi uutta opettajaa mukaan toimintaan kevätlukukaudelle.

Pienten ryhmä (opettajat: Katja, Mirjam, Annika & Kata)

Pienten ryhmä jatkaa tuttuun tapaan laululeikeillä ensimmäisellä tunnilla ja peleillä ja tarinoilla toisella tunnilla.

Isojen ryhmä (opettajat: Satu, Riikka, Ilkka & Kata)

Isojen ryhmä keskittyy keväällä sanaston, puheen ja kirjoitustaidon kehittämiseen aktiivisen oppimisen, tehtävien ja pelien kautta. Lisäksi pyrimme laatimaan jokaisen koulukerran teemaan sopivaa kotimateriaalia sitä haluaville lapsille ja/tai linkkejä teeman liittyviin peleihin, joita voi pelata kotona.

Kirjasto

Tuomme valikoiman kirjoja ja DVDitä jokaiselle koulukerralle retkeä lukuunottamatta. Jos haluat lainata jonkun tietyn kirjan seuraavalla koulukerralla, lähetä pyyntö  contact@glasgowfinnishschool.org.uk. Kirja/DVD luettelo löytyy täältä. Kirjonen lainaaminen on ilmaista.

Kahvitusmaksu

Keväällä 2015 ei peritä lukukausimaksua. Sen sijaan perimme kertamaksun, jolla katetaan lasten välipala ja kahvituskulut. Maksu on £1/perhe/kerta ja se maksetaan suoraan koulukerran järjestävälle perheelle. Muistakaa siis tuoda £1 jokaiselle koulukerralle jolle pääsette mukaan. Lasten kevyt välipala sisältää hedelmän, keksin (tms.) ja mehun. Aikuisille kahvi/tee.

School dates

The Finnish School will meet as follows during spring 2015:

• 24/01 both groups meet at Johanna’s home, 2-4 pm.
• 28/02 both groups meet at Riikka’s home, 2-4 pm.
• 21/03 both groups meet at Mirjam’s home, 2-4 pm. 
•  25/04 both groups meet at Krisse’s home, 2-4 pm.
• 16/05 both groups meet at Satu’s home, 2-4 pm.
• 17/06 School's Spring Meeting at Riikka’s home (evening).
• 21/06 Trip to Mugdock Country Park, From 11 am onwards. The school will book a barbecue area. In the park we can play Finnish games (pesäpallo, mölkky, etc), and there are lots of children's outdoor play areas. The play areas are "natural", so it's a good idea to dress children in clothes suitable for playing in dirt/mud. Each family will pay a small charge, to cover the cost of booking the BBQ area, the coals, and other shared supplies. Food will be organised on "pot luck" basis; that is, families should bring food for the BBQ and other dishes to suit themselves, plus preferably a bit extra to share. Teaching Groups

Teaching continues to be organised in two groups but the school welcomes two new teachers who will be joining us for the spring term.

Younger kids group (teachers: Katja, Mirjam, Annika & Kata)

The younger kids group continues as before, with songs and rhymes during the first lesson and games and stories during the second lesson.

Older kids group (teachers: Satu, Riikka, Ilkka & Kata)

During the spring term, the older kids group will focus on developing vocabulary, speech and writing skills through active learning, exercises and games. In addition, we will aim to provide home material related to each school meeting's topic to children wishing to have additional exercises and/or links to topic relevant games that can be played at home. 

Library

We will bring a selection of books and DVDs to each school meeting apart from the school trip. If you wish to borrow a particular book at the next meeting, you can request it by sending an email to contact@glasgowfinnishschool.org.uk. A list of books/DVDs can be viewed here. Borrowing books is free of charge.

Catering fee

During spring 2015, the will be no school fee. Instead we will collect a small snack fee at each school meeting to cover children's snack and tea/coffee service for adults. The fee will be £1 per family per school meeting and will be paid directly to the family organising the meeting. So, please remember to bring £1 to each meeting that you can attend. Children's snack will include fruit, biscuit (or similar) and juice. Tea and coffee will be served for adults.
