Suomi-koulun kesäretken päivämäärä on lauantai 17.6. Kohteena on Calderglen Country Park East Kilbridessä. Kaikki ovat tervetulleita liittymään joukkoomme!

Kokoonnumme klo 11 eläintarhan ja parkkipaikan yhteydessä olevassa leikkipuistossa. Leikkipuisto on iso ja hiljattain uusittu, ja siellä on paljon välineitä sekä pienille että isommille lapsille.

Siirrymme piknikille n. klo 12. Leikkipuiston lähellä on kaksi piknikille soveltuvaa aluetta: leikkipuiston alapuolella on aidattu varsinainen piknikalue, ja leikkipuiston yläpuolella on nurmikkoalue jossa on myös muutama piknikpöytä. Käytämme näistä jompaa kumpaa riippuen siitä missä on parhaiten tilaa; aluetta ei ole varattu erikseen meille. Ota mukaan syötävää omalle perheellesi. Kannattaa myös ottaa mukaan retkipeite jolla voi istua jos sellainen sattuu olemaan. Sateen sattuessa voimme käyttää puiston eläintarhan yhteydessä olevaa isoa katettua piknikaluetta (vaatii pääsymaksun maksamista, ks. alla).

Piknikin jälkeen perheet voivat puuhailla yhdessä tai erikseen kaikenlaista kivaa. Puistossa on mm. kävelyreittejä ja lasten eläintarha joka maksaa n. £1/henkilö.

Jos perheesi on tulossa mukaan piknikille, lähetä nimesi ja kännykkänumerosi osoitteeseen contact@glasgowfinnishschool.org.uk jotta voimme ottaa yhteyttä jos retki joudutaan perumaan viime hetkellä (esim. kaatosateen tai vastaavan sääongelman vuoksi).

The date for the Finnish School summer trip has been selected: Saturday 17th June. Our destination is Calderglen Country Park in East Kilbride. All welcome!

We will meet at 11 am at the playpark that’s adjacent to the zoo and the car park. The playpark is large and recently renovated, and it has lots of equipment for both toddlers and older children.

We will move on to our picnic around 12 noon. There are two picnic areas adjacent to the playpark: an enclosed picnic area below the playpark, and a grassy area with a few picnic tables above the playpark. We will use whichever area seems to have more room (that is, we don’t have an area set aside specifically for us). Please bring food for your own family. If you have a picnic blanket, that could prove handy too. If it rains, we can use the large covered picnic area within the zoo (though that requires paying the entrance fee, see below).

After the picnic, the school families can enjoy the park together or on their own. The park has walking routes and a children’s zoo that costs about £1/person.

If your family is planning to come along, please send your name and mobile phone number to contact@glasgowfinnishschool.org.uk so that we can get in touch in the unlikely event that the trip has to be cancelled at the last minute (for example, due to very heavy rain or a similar weather issue).
